Washi Tape Madness!

Saturday was my birthday, so I took a little road trip to the ATL to visit one of my favorite craft store, Archiver's, and redeem some of my birthday freebie coupons. I've been looking for Washi tape locally since I got a roll for Christmas (thanks, Jane!!), and I haven't been able to find any, but I found a huge selection at Archiver's!! If you're not familiar with Washi tape, it is a decorative paper tape that is easy to tear, thereby making it a breeze to work with. I stuck with a few color schemes so that I wouldn't buy lots of random rolls that I couldn't put together into projects. I found quite a bit of inspiration on Pinterest, including the idea for this card, which was very easy to put together. There are endless creative options with Washi tape and it's fun to experiment with. Thanks for stopping by - now go buy some Washi tape!!

Simple Circles

Isn't it AMAZING what you can do with a couple of circle punches, a few buttons, and some DSP? I found the inspiration for this card on Pinterest. Imagine that!!

Be Mine!

This is a super simple Valentine card using a heart punch, a button, twine, and DSP. My favorite part is the red embossing tinsel I used on "Be Mine." It is so pretty and perfect for a sweet little Valentine's Day card. I embossed the sentiment on the inside as well. Thanks for stopping by!!

Box Full of Sunshine!!

Y'all know that I love all things Pinterest and I have found some of the most awesomely creative, original, and fun ideas on the boards I check out daily. This one is exceptionally fantastic!! A BOX FULL OF SUNSHINE to send to someone who needs a little pick-me-up. I made this box to send to a friend whose sweet baby boy is at Vanderbilt Medical Center (3 hours away from their home in Knoxville) where they have been since he was born 2 months ago and will be for the foreseeable future. Everything in the box is yellow or packaged in yellow complete with yellow shredded filler and a yellow card. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find a good variety of items to include, but a little browsing at Target proved fruitful! I included a box of Wheat Thins, peanut M&Ms, protein bars, individual packets of lemonade mix, Sour Patch Kids, some lemon & butterscotch candies, and a couple of packs of gum. This is definitely an idea I will reinvent over and over for lots of occasions! Thanks for stopping by!

Rainbow Bright!

I finally broke down and bought a die I had been eye-balling for a while now, My Favorite Things' rainbow die. It cuts seven, perfectly nested arches that fit together effortlessly and beautifully to make a rainbow. Not so fast!! Beautifully? Maybe with a little practice. Effortlessly? NO WAY!! I tried to follow the directions (a die with directions should've been my first clue!) with no luck so I improvised and this is what I came up with. This card is really starting to grow on me although I didn't like it much after I finished it. I REALLY hate making card with lots of details, but now I have six more lovely little rainbows to play around with so the hard part's over!! Thanks for stopping by!

Make it Monday #99

I hardly ever take part in any on-line stamping challenges because I never know when I'm going to be able to get busy in the ol' craft room, but I had some time today so I gave it a try!! I used Color Scheme #3 and copied this idea directly from Pinterest. Not an ounce of original thought went into this card!! Thanks for stopping by and check out Nichole Heady's blog - it's AWESOME!!

You're 40!!

This is the BEST card I've found on Pinterest!! And my sister-in-law is turning 40 in a week so I made it for her. It's a great use for all those leftover letter stickers and it can be adapted to any age. Thanks for stopping by!

Keep Calm & Carry On!!

I love blogging . . . about my kids!! I HATE blogging about my crafting!! All of my cards come from on-line blogs and Pinterest so they have ALL been written about somewhere else, most likely by the person who actually created them!! So, I will try to blog here more regularly, but I will post pictures primarily and very little commentary. If something is unique, I'll try to explain it, and if you have a question about something, please ask and I will definitely answer it. Sooooooo, on with the show!!

I saw this card on Pinterest and had absolutely no reason to make it until . . . my friend's son went to London for the week with his dad so I used that as my completely made-up reason to make this a "thinking of you" card!! It was surprisingly easy. The cross pieces are 1" (white) & .75" (red) and the Xs are .75" (white) & .5" (red). I have become OBSESSED with embossing lately - I embossed the crown with gold embossing powder. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!! Thanks for stopping by, especially you, Jane!!

Front Door Beauty

Here's another blog post, just to blow EVERYONE'S minds! I promise I can't keep up this pace for very long, so enjoy it while it lasts! It should go without saying that I find the inspiration for 99% on Pinterest, which I affectionately call crack for crafters!! If you haven't checked it out yet, go right now and be AMAZED at the amount of inspiration you'll find in one place!

Bloggus Interruptus

So a FRIEND of mine informed me today that she was tired of looking at the cards I've had on my blog since September and haven't updated, so HERE I AM, after an exhausting week, posting a card I made quite recently to appease said FRIEND!! I'm not really angry at you, Jane, but I'm afraid I don't have much to show for my blog hiatus. Hopefully, that will change in the near future . . . but please don't hold your breath!! That baby sure is keeping me busy!!

Sharing in your sorrow

One of my former high school teachers had a death in her family recently, so I made her a card that I found on Pinterest using Papertrey Ink's Life set. I love the various stems in this set and I've seen so many beautiful cards made with it. My card uses a monochromatic palette, but this card would be equally lovely using a variety of colors. I layered a piece of embossed white cardstock onto the solid white base, which adds a bit of elegance to the card. The ribbon adds a finishing touch to the card so be sure you don't omit that little detail if you CASE it! Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!!

Sunflowers & a picket fence

I found this card on Pinterest a few months ago and fell completely in love with it! PTI's picket fence die is precious and easy to use. I lucked out and found the clouds & sky background paper at my local scrapbook store. A bit of stamping, a bit of die-cutting, bada bing, bada boom, a GREAT card! Thanks for stopping by!
