Inspired by Ashley Marostica

So, I'm finally starting to get into making baby girl cards, although I really need to start making thank you notes, but this won't be my note because it's a little too involved. But, don't you love that sweet little pea in the pod? This may be Morgan's first Halloween costume! It's always been my favorite. And Bailey can be the farmer and carry her in a basket! We've really given this a lot of thought. Anyway, back to the card - it was inspired by this blog and, since I didn't have the sentiment stamp, I wrote it myself which miraculously worked out! Thanks for stopping by - I hope to be back on a roll now!

Inspired by Annie B

This is the card my stamping buddy, Annie B, had for us to make last week. I really love the layout and can't wait to use it again. The paper is PTI's Green Tea Leaves and I love how it looks paired with the chocolate dots. And how cute is that tea cup?!? Another PTI creation! After making this card, I bought Nestabilities Labels 4 to use with the ovals I already have to duplicate this focal point. Simple and beautiful - my fave!

MIA

Sorry to have been MIA this week! I have been working on Bailey's scrapbook so it will be current by the time Morgan arrives. I would LOVE to post some of my better pages here, but I have a terrible time taking good photos of 12x12 pages, so you may just have to take my word that I have been busy crafting! I hope to post some cards tomorrow, so check back soon!!

Using Up Scraps, part 3

I'm trying very hard to catch up on my card-making and find a bit of mojo, so I started with this card by Dawn McVey. It's another one of those great cards that used up scraps. Dawn sewed on her card and I may have to add some hand-stitching to mine, too, to emphasize the scalloped Kiwi Kiss strip I used. The hardest part of this card is picking out which beautiful DSP to use - it has lots of possibilities and goes together quickly. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!

Using Up Scraps, part 2

What do you think of this cute card?!? I found it on Jeni Allen's blog, My Stampin' Spot, which is one of the blogs I stalk regularly! Just another GREAT way to use up some of those paper scraps we've all got! I used my 1" and 1.25" circle punches - super simple! Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Addictive Personality 101

I have an addictive personality. It's true. You can tell by the number of Starbucks I drink, the amount of scrapbooking supplies I own, and the devotion with which I follow Vera Bradley patterns! So, when I find a card sketch that I love and can implement, I use it to death. I think this might be THAT sketch!! I was a litle overdue to make a new baby card so I dug out some blue-hued papers, cut 4 strips, added a button and some ribbon and . . . well, you know the rest!!

Using Up Scraps

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but I LOVE cards that utilize some of the millions of little pieces of paper I have floating all over my craft room!! When I saw this card on Becky Roberts' Inking Idaho blog, I knew it was one I had to save for future use!! And now, almost 4 months later, I have finally used her inspiration. The card is super quick to make - the paper strips are 1" x 4" and I attached them to the front of the card and then adhered the scalloped piece over them. A sentiment and a little ribbon and VOILA! A beautiful project! Hope you'll try it!

Simply Said

Simply Said is one of those stamp sets that I wanted for a long time, finally got, and rarely use :) Don't we all have a few of those? But Mary Fish's blog, Stampin' Pretty, gave me an excuse to dust it off and CASE this card. I've always said that Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper is some of the most beautiful and best quality I have ever used. The colors always inspire me to create something wonderful. The name of this pack escapes me, but I just love Cameo Coral, Tempting Turquoise, and Summer Sun together. It just screams summer!! I made this card for a friend who recently gave me a beautiful set of white eyelet bedding for our baby's bed! How exciting and just the encouragement we needed to dig out the bed and set it up. Thanks for stopping by today - try to keep cool!!

SU! Inspiration

I needed an extra special thank you note for some friends who came to our rescue over the weekend, and I LOVED this one I found on my friend, Jamie's Stampin' Up! website. As usual, I didn't have the exact stamps, except the Big Deal Alphabet, but I think it came together very well and I will definitely make this one again. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!!

More Blog Hop Color Combos

Here is yet another bit of inspiration that I found while doing the PTI Blog Hop the other night. With more than 100 entries, there's plenty of inspiration to be found!! As usual, I didn't have the exact stamps or colors, but I improvised. I'm getting really good at that!! This is an unusual color combo that I'm not sure I would use again, but it works for this card and I like it!! Have a great day!!

Create-Your-Own DSP

So my latest CASE involves 2 cards I recently saw!! The first is this one because I love the way he used the stamp set One of a Kind to create designer paper (plus I thought it was interesting to find a guy who's a demo!!) and the second is this one for the color combo. This card lends itself to just about any occasion and the color combinations are endless. Hope you'll try it out!! Have a great Wednesday, or perhaps a sleepy one if you went to see the midnight showing of "Eclipse" last night like I did!!

The New SU! Catalog is in Da House!!

My dear, sweet friend, Mary Ann, recently set me up with the *NEW* SU! Idea Book & Catalog and I have been poring over the pages since I got it!! This is one of the projects pictured with the Tart & Tangy stamp set and I just love it!! I was surprised by how easy the fruits were to cut out and I love the paper piecing. The strawberry and the card base are Melon Mambo, which is a wonderful pinky-red color. I also used Tangerine Tango and PTI's Lemon Tart. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Sunday!!

Blog Hop Inspiration

As I was going through all of the 100+ entries for Papertrey's Blog Hop last night, this card caught my attention. It's very simple with only one layer, but it excited me! So, I dug out a few stamps that reminded me of the ones Steph used and went to work. I especially love the different fonts she used for the sentiment. PTI has really great sentiment stamps and I don't have nearly enough of them!! I always have a terrible time coming up with a project for my Tuesday Night Stamp Group, but I think this one is a winner! Hope they like it next month!

Happy Birthday, Sophia!!

My social butterfly of a child is going to another birthday party tomorrow afternoon and I made this cute little tag using Sweet Scoops for the gift. It was super easy to make - a couple of scalloped circles, and a large circle punch and you're good to go! I have seen a similar idea done by stamping all the ice cream scoops, but I can neither mask well nor stamp the scoops in such a way that they fill in the space. So, stamping them and cutting them out is easiest for me. I hope Bailey's sweet friend likes her gift . . . and her tag!!

Thinking of You

This is another sympathy card that I recently made for a friend whose father passed away. I was inspired by a card I found on SCS, but I don't have the link - sorry!! I'm trying to get out some of the stamps I've had FOREVER and use them so I won't be tempted to buy *NEW* ones that I truly do not need. Thanks for stopping by and stay cool today!!

Happy Birthday, Kacie!!

I don't know about you, but sometimes I have a hard time making a birthday card for Bailey's little 9-year-old friends! It doesn't even matter that they might throw the card away (please don't!!), it's more that I don't want to make a card that's too mature. So, when I found this cute card in my favorite blogger, Chat's etsy store (Me, My Stamps and I), I knew it would be perfect for a little girl! Bailey was super impressed! In fact, she said SHE wanted this card for her birthday!! Yea!! I love it when a plan comes together!! Have a great weekend!!

With Sympathy

Isn't this a beautiful card?!?! I have a couple of sympathy cards to make and I wanted to use Kind & Caring Thoughts, a set I don't use nearly enough. So, I consulted our old fave, Splitcoast Stampers, and found lots of inspiration. I love the card I CASEd by Sandy Murphy because of its bright color scheme. I used Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, & Crushed Curry. The polka dot background paper is an old SU! Halloween pattern! The back has pumpkins on it, but the recipient doesn't have to know that!! :D I don't think that sympathy cards have to be dark and somber to be appreciated. I hope the family I send this one to enjoys receiving it as much as I enjoyed making it! Thanks for stopping by!!

PTI Anniversary Set

I met my friends, Cele and Rebekah the other day for lunch and guess what Cele gave me? The extra PTI anniversary stamp set, Round & Round, that she received!! Holy cow, was I ever excited!! I have already used it and I can promise that it is AWESOME!! Since I can't come up with an original thought to save my life :D I checked out the Internet to see what other talented peeps had made with this set. Debbie Olson of Thinking Inking blog has made lots of pretty cards, most of which I have already CASEd! Now, if I can just get my hands on Mat Stack 1 . . .

Always inspired by Atomic Butterfly!!

With babies being on my brain constantly, I am drawn to baby cards and this is one of the prettiest ones I've seen! So, when a friend asked me to make a card for her sister whose baby is due this summer, I immediately thought of this one! I've said it lots of times, but I love PTI's Baby Button Bits!! It's really more versatile than you would expect a baby-centered set to be because of that beautiful cupcake. And speaking of cupcakes :D I found a stamp at Archiver's a few weeks ago that read "Seize the Cupcake" and I did - the stamp and a cupcake the next day! For this card, I was so lucky to find a piece of wide organza ribbon to use - I love the airiness it gives the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Simply Said - Finally!!

Isn't this a lovely card?!?! I had wanted the set Simply Said forever and FINALLY bought it at an incredible price last year, but have I used it? I think you can guess the answer!! So, when I saw this card on My, My Stamps and I, I knew that I was destined to make it with my neglected little stamp set! I used Bermuda Bay ink and ribbon and my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to line up the flowers just right. Inside, I'll stamp a sentiment on the inside that completes the phrase on the front. Have a COOL day!!
