colourQ challenge #298

This week's colourQ challenge colors look lovely with my new PTI stamp set Brushed Blooms. To have such a black thumb, I sure do love floral stamp sets! This set has a die that is shaped like a bouquet and I can't wait to make a card with it. I had not a single color this week, so I subbed Tim Holtz's Seedless Preserves and Milled Lavender, and SU! Kiwi Kiss and Pool Party. How do I not have Cool Caribbean?!?! I have really been a slacker or something! Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you're keeping cool - it's in the 90s here in beautiful East Tennessee.

colourQ challenge #297

This week's colourQ challenge colors are gorgeous but, of course, I only had two - Pool Party and Kraft. I substituted Tim Holtz's Chipped Sapphire and Barn Door for the other colors. My card is super simple and I used a vintage PTI stamp set that I received at Stamp-A-Faire the year it was in Cincinnati. I am so bummed that the event is now online! My stamping friends and I had the BEST time that year! Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week!

colourQ challenge #296

I can't believe I've been off the grid for a month! Time flies when you're busy in the summer! Thankfully, we've been busy with fun things - my little one and I are on a quest to find the best playground in town this summer! We've been to some great ones but I have an AWESOME one in store for her on Monday after her dreaded dental appointment! I had three our of four colors in this week's colourQ challenge, but I had to substitute Baja Breeze for Marina Mist. This stamp set is PTI's Sketched Shapes and I think I've only used it once. I'm sure I had big plans for it when I ordered it but, as usual, by the time it arrived, those big plans had slipped my mind. The Happy Birthday sentiment is also from that set. I love how most PTI stamp sets have great sentiments to go with their great images. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

colourQ challenge #292

I nearly cut this one too close this week! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this week's colourQ challenge colors, but the week flew by and this is all I could put together. Isn't the last week of school CRAZY?!?! And I don't even have a child in elementary school which is where the craziness can reach epic levels. So, here is my simple entry into this week's challenge. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you had a blessed Memorial Day!

colourQ challenge #291

Not surprisingly, I had NONE of this week's colourQ challenge colors! Not a single one!! Luckily, I had some close substitutes: Tim Holtz's Barn Door, Stormy Sky, & Wild Honey, and SU!'s Wild Wasabi (LOVE!). This card is for a family friend who recently lost her husband. I'm sending her some pictures from our #1 daughter's eighth grade dance last weekend. She and her friends looked beautiful, and her date was very handsome. It was an exciting time for both of us! Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.

colourQ challenge #290

I love the colors in this week's colourQ challenge and since Mothers Day is coming up, I had the perfect color palette to make a card for my husband's sweet grandmama, who is in a nursing home. I think this simple floral image from PTI's Bigger Blooms stamp set is simply beautiful and the sentiment from PTI's Wet Paint is bold enough to balance the card without overpowering it, especially in my favorite Coastal Cabana. I hope y'all have a blessed weekend spent with the ones you love!!

colourQ challenge #288

I LOVE this week's colourQ challenge colors and since I had several thank you notes to make for my MOPS group, I decided to kill two birds with one stone! I present . . . Branch Out!! I know you're shocked that I didn't use Painted Flowers, but I went back to my first love. This is a very simple card that's perfect for mass production. I had all of the colors this week and while I was planning to use Kiwi Kiss and Bermuda Bay separately on the card, they were gorgeous when I overlapped them on the tree! You just never know what you're going to come up with when you spend the afternoon crafting! Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed week!

colourQ challenge #286

This week's colourQ challenge color palette proved easier to work with than I thought. I used one of my old standby favorites, Bigger Blooms by PTI, and an embossing folder on the card base for a little interest. This card is for a sweet friend of mine who's having a birthday on Saturday. Thanks for stopping by! Hope the weather is beautiful where you are. The sun decided to shine on East Tennessee today!

colourQ challenge #285

Thank y'all in advance for bearing with me as I showcase my very favorite stamp set yet again this week and extoll the magic of spring colors! I write incredibly articulate and descriptive blog posts . . . in my head! But when I sit down at the computer, {poof} all my original thoughts are gone. This week's colourQ challenge colors are some of my favorite and I hope this card will brighten the day of a dear, precious friend whose husband passed away five years ago this Sunday. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend and a blessed Easter.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (John 3:16-17)

colourQ challenge #284

This week's colourQ challenge colors are lovely! We are getting a sweet taste of spring here in E. TN and these colors fit right in. I used Altenew's Painted Flowers along with Pool Party and Old Olive ink. I had to substitute Pretty in Pink and Tim Holtz's Milled Lavender. I also used a new set I just received from Neat & Tangled called Everyday Labels. Sadly, I needed another sympathy card this week for one of my 14-year-old's teachers who is also my prayer partner. I think the softness of these colors is perfect for a sympathy card. Thanks for stopping by today! I hope it's beautiful where you are!!

Make It Monday #205: Confetti Cluster Stamping

The minute I saw the tutorial for this week's Make it Monday Challenge confetti cluster stamping, I knew I was going to participate! It is such a striking but totally accessible technique that is lots of fun. I looked through my dies, which are mostly basic shapes, and I knew I wanted something just a little bit different, so I die cut an egg shape. Voila! Perfect Easter card! I used the tiniest stamps from several PTI sets including Stylish Sentiments: Birthday, Wreath for All Seasons, Bigger Blooms, Daydreamer, and Reason to Smile, and lots of spring colors. I am a terrible random stamper, so please forgive the swirls that are side-by-side or the unbalanced colors. Just think, "How clever!! An Easter egg!!" Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Altenew March Challenge

If you are new to my blog today, WELCOME! You may not be aware that I am completely obsessed with Altenew's stamp set, Painted Flowers! It is such a beautifully versatile set and I have made a ton of cards using it. This card is for their March challenge. I needed something resembling a vine so I altered an old PTI stamp. I embossed one of the Altenew detail stamps in black and watercolored the flowers using SU! Cameo Coral and Ruby Red. I stamped a few leaves in Tim Holtz's Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. The sentiment is from PTI's Wet Paint stamp set. Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you'll look around at some of the other cards I've made using Painted Flowers. Have a great day!!

colourQ challenge #283

This week's colourQ challenge was very challenging to me! In fact, I didn't think I'd be able to create anything, but I finally put together this little "thinking of you" card and it's starting to grow on me. I had to sub Basic Gray for Going Gray on my "smile" sentiment, but everything else is by the book! Thanks for stopping by and have a great Sunday evening!

Make It Monday #203: Doodling with Stamps

This week's PTI Make it Monday challenge was very challenging for me. I wanted to use PTI's Bigger Blooms stamp set, but I just couldn't come up with a design I liked so I went back to my favorite Painted Flowers set by Altenew. This set includes detail stamps I usually stamp in black but I stamped in Berry Sorbet on this card and then used a Uni-Ball Vision Exact black pen to highlight the details. I also used PTI Hibiscus ink and Tim Holtz Shabby Shutters. The paper is Berry Sorbet Bitty Dots and Stampers Select white. The sequins are by Neat & Tangled and the sentiment is from PTI's Wet Paint stamp set. Lots and lots of pretties on this card today! Thanks for stopping by! Hope it's warm where you are!

colourQ challenge #282

This week's colourQ challenge was challenging for me, although I did have the colors for once. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new Altenew Painted Flowers stamp set, so I went straight to it for this challenge. I was halfway through my card when I realized I couldn't use green for the leaves! Gah! So, since I knew I had to use newsprint, I decided to use it on the leaves. I felt pretty smart! And I lucked out with coordinating sequins, too! In addition to Painted Flowers, I used PTI's Wet Paint for the sentiment. It's an amazingly versatile stamp set! I love finding stamp sets that are so fantastic that they don't need a lot of embellishments or techniques to SHINE! Thanks for stopping by today! It's 70 degrees here in E. TN today and tomorrow the low is 18, so woo hoo!! If it snows again, I may have some more crafting time!

colourQ challenge #281 (part 2)

As I mentioned in a previous post, I have some wonderful new stamp sets that I have been having a blast with and that's why this is my second post for this week's colourQ challenge. This set is a new one from PTI called Lovely Laurels. I knew when I first saw it that I would love the wreath stamp and the set comes with dies, one of which I used to cut out this tiny little bird. I didn't have Peach Parfait so I used Apricot Appeal, which is pale by comparison, but I love how the soft colors look on this card. We're finally digging out of two weeks' worth of snow so the thought of spring and all its colors makes me very, very happy!! Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
