And here's another card . . .

Hard to believe that, until last week, I hadn't stamped anything in weeks! Now, I seem to be on a roll again and I am so glad!! I hate not having any mojo! I found and lost and finally found again this beautifully simple card from Lorri Heiling. I just bought the Manhattan Flower embossing folder from SU! and this is the first time I've used it. I just love the wonderful texture that embossing folders give a project. For this card, I embossed vellum which is just amazing. Because of vellum's thinner, crisper texture, the embossed image literally pops!
Sadly, this card is a sympathy card for the husband of one of Bailey's music teachers. She passed away this past week after battling cancer for some time; she was only 26. Please keep her family in your prayers.

Stamp and Smile!!

OMGosh!! When I saw this card on Michelle Yungbauer's blog, I couldn't wait to CASE it!! It is so beautiful and bright and summery and . . . PERFECT! As usual, I didn't get it exactly right, but I still like the way it turned out. I can't wait to send this card to my sweet parents to thank them for having us over for dinner the other night. The card base and ribbon are SU!'s *NEW* Bermuda Bay that will be debuting on July 1. It's a beautiful color for all you turquoise lovers out there! Happy stampin'!!!

Patty ROCKS!!

If you've never checked out Patty's Stamping Spot, you are truly missing out on a fantastic blog!! This is just one of many, many projects of hers that I want to CASE. As hard as I try to duplicate a project exactly, mine is always a bit off, but I wouldn't be ashamed to send this one to a friend! I was having twine problems so I added the brad to hold it in place. The card base and the pot are made from SU!'s *NEW* Dusty Durango cardstock. It is very similar to Really Rust and, in fact, I used RR ink for the bottom of the pot, the flowers and the sentiment (which is from PTI). You could make this sweet flower pot any color, but I really like the terra cotta look - Patty brayered her color onto the bottom, but I used the direct-to-paper method because I am lazy and didn't want to get out my brayer and then clean it afterward!! Thanks for stopping by - enjoy your Sunday!!

Inspired by Laurie Schmidlin

I love this card by Laurie Schmidlin! Another great design for showing off beautiful Designer Paper. I think SU!'s new Razzleberry Lemonade DSP is GORGEOUS - so much prettier in real life than in the catalog & a great combo of colors. I can't wait to order more of the new DSP - my faves are Thoroughly Modern, Kaleidoscope, & Merry Moments. There is also beautiful new striped and polka dot ribbon. The striped is 1 1/4" wide and comes in Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, and Basic Black; beside the new In Colors, there is new polka dot ribbon in Real Red that's 3/4" wide. Thanks for stopping by to see my SECOND post of the day!! Woo Hoo!

Happy Half-Birthday, Sweet Bailey

Today is my sweet Bailey's half-birthday!! We started celebrating half-birthdays when she was 4 1/2 with half a birthday card and half a cake!! This year's half-card is just the card front and her half-cake is a one-layer caramel cake. I found this adorable card on SCS and copied it exactly. It doesn't open ('cause it's only half!) so the sentiment is on the back. Very fun!! Can't wait to dig into that caramel cake - one layer doesn't last very long around here!! Have a wonderful weekend!!

*NEW* Bermuda Bay Inspired by Stampin' Pretty

If you're planning a New Catalog Open House in the next few weeks, this is the best make-n-take to show off the *NEW* In Colors!! I LOVE Mary Fish's blog, Stampin' Pretty, but this card takes her elegant style to a whole new level! I used Doodle This for my card, but I think the new Razzleberry set would be beautiful, especially if you made a square card! Won't your guests be impressed to see a card like this one in each of the new colors?! I've always said that I have trouble making simple, elegant cards, but this design is one I will CASE over and over. Thanks, Mary, for your inspiration!!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #10

This is my creation for Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #10. I am completely inept at creating a card on the fly, so I used as my inspiration a card my buddy, Cele, made for me a few months ago. I had to improvise a bit with the melon color, so I spritzed a bit of Regal Rose over the Cameo Coral I had already spritzed. I just love my Color Spritzer - excellent for covering that dreaded white-space with a little shot of color! Thanks for checking out my FOURTH post of the day!! That must be some kind of record . . .

PS Looks likes I'm the first poster - woo hoo!!

Super Simple Flowers

I just love this sweet little card! I made it at a stamping meeting a couple of months ago. It's super simple, but the elements are well chosen to create an elegant card. My favorite cards are the ones that combine simple ingredients - cardstock, designer paper, & ribbon - and achieve beautiful results. Have a great evening!

Day at the Beach!!

I am lovin' PTI's "Day at the Beach!!" All those stamps that coordinate to create all kinds of fantastic projects! I saw this idea on a blog that I cannot find again . . . and believe me, I tried!! I love how the sentiment curves around the cardstock oval - those acrylic stamps are so versatile!! And those flip-flops are adorable!! The DSP strips make a wonderful, easy background. Happy Stampin'!!

New Catalog SNEAK PEAK!!

This neat card is in the *NEW* Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalog and it's the PERFECT thank you card to send to one of my Bunko buddies! We're all about the drinkin'!! That cute little martini glass is stamped in VersaMark on the *NEW* Bermuda Bay In Color Cardstock!! It's a beautiful color that I will be using a lot. Thanks for stopping by - have a great week!

Lovin' that gal!

OMGosh! When I saw this card on Stampin' Gal Val's blog, I fell in love!! What a wonderful way to show off all the beautiful new Designer Series Paper that will be unveiled on July 1! My card features some of the new In Colors for 2009-10. The DSP is Razzleberry Lemonade - it is gorgeous!! I used 5 strips (3 3/4" x 1") of DSP on this card and the beautiful new Rich Razzleberry ribbon, cardstock, and ink. I am not a fan of purple. In fact, I have a couple of unfinished scrapbook layouts that are purple - the color seems to zap my creativity! But not Rich Razzleberry - I LOVE it! Well, it's almost 5:30 a.m., so I guess I should return to bed! Sometimes, all those new SU! products just call me name and I have to answer!!!

Lovin' Lisa Johnson

I just love Lisa Johnson's blog, Poppy Paperie, and the stamp sets she designs for PTI. I couldn't wait to CASE this card that I saw on her awesome blog. This set, "Life," is one of the ones I won from PTI a couple of months ago and I am so glad I did! I have really enjoyed using it. I hope you all have a wonderful Father's Day weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Always inspired by Inking Idaho

I didn't realize that Heartfelt Thanks was retiring until I saw this post on Inking Idaho's blog. That set was one of the very first ones I got from SU! In fact, it was in my Demo Starter Kit, so it's been around awhile! I haven't used this set in quite some time, but this card inspired me to get it out, dust it off, and put it to work again. Sorry the pic is a little crooked - I've felt a little "off" today! Thanks for stopping by!

Simply Beautiful Sympathy

My stamping buddy, Alli, brought this card to our most recent shoebox swap. Isn't it beautiful?! It was super simple to make, but so very striking. This is a design I will definitely use again. Thanks, Alli, for the inspiration!

Floral Fantasy

I saw this cute card on Dawn McVey's blog and LOVED it, but was unsuccessful with the tearing of the flower petals. Luckily, I read on smarty Annie B.'s blog that she had created a similar flower by punching out her circles and distressing them. She is so smart!! That's exactly what I did and, while it's a bit different from Dawn's finished product, I am happy with the way it looks. Thanks for stopping by and have a great evening!

A little catching up

Here are some cards I've received/made recently. My friend, Cele, sent me the one with the teapot and I love it!! I need to CASE her design and dust off my PTI stamps. I CASEd the one with the butterflies, but I have forgotten who made it (my computer shuts down at the most inopportune times!). I also CASEd the last two from Pine's website using the Reverse Punch Applique technique. Somehow I always love the cards I see on all the awesome blogs I stalk, but when I make them, I am terribly unimpressed! Oh, well - better luck next time! My sweet friend, Annie B, interviewed me for her blog this week, so check it out! I've answered many of your burning questions!! Have a great weekend!

Day at the Beach

I have never bought a beachy/summer stamp set because we're not really beach people and I HATE the heat!! But when I saw PTI's new set, Day at the Beach, I was instantly hooked!! I found this card on the PTI website and I just love all the flip-flops - especially the polka-dot ones!! Flip-flops are my favorite part of summer!! The possibilities are endless with this amazing set. I hope to post more projects soon! Have a great day and a wonderful summer!!
