Make it Monday #244: Score Lines

I made this card for a dear, sweet friend of mine whose husband passed away unexpectedly six years ago next week. She always deserves an extra special card because she is an extraordinary person.

I had seen the score lines technique recently and wanted to try it, but I didn't take the plunge until this week's Make it Monday challenge. It is such a simple, creative way to add pizzazz to a card. My score lines are hard to see but I promise they're there. And I don't mean to toot my own horn but I really love this card! The sunflowers, while not naturally accurate, turned out beautifully. The colors I used are SU! Daffodil Delight & Early Espresso, and PTI Berry Sorbet. I used PTI's Painted Petals, Friends 'til the End, and Keep it Simple: Praying for You. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

colourQ challenge #334

Thanks for stopping by today! For this week's colourQ challenge, I used PTI's Reasons to Smile stamp set. The flower centers are stamped in Poppy Parade, although it's hard to tell that from the picture. I especially the hints of Coastal Cabana around the flowers. Sometimes the tiniest details are the most profound! Have a great week!

colourQ challenge #333

I'm way behind this week because it's been our spring break and my husband was off all week. You would think I would get more crafting time, but not this week! We celebrated our 21st anniversary and my older daughter had softball games all week, so while we didn't go anywhere or have any major plans, it seems we were very busy. I put this card together pretty quickly for this week's colourQ challenge and I like it, but it needs something on the front and I didn't have the right sentiment and I wasn't sure where to put it and not ruin the card. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

PTI Create Along with Us: March 2016

For this month's PTI Create Along with Us, I was inspired by the design and color scheme of Amy Sheffer's card. I used Painted Petals, this year's reward set from PTI (I am soooooo glad I hoarded my points last year!) and similar colors including Hibiscus Burst, New Leaf, & Orange Zest, and SU! Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, & Early Espresso. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

Make it Monday #242: Sponged Stamping

This week's Make it Monday challenge from PTI is sponged stamping. I made my card using one of Amy Sheffer's cards as my inspiration. I inked one of the stamps from Flower Favorites with PTI Hibiscus Burst, SU! Melon Mambo, and PTI Autumn Rose. I made my own designer paper by stamping and embossing little dots in gold and I echoed that theme in my sentiment, which I also stamped and embossed in gold. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great weekend! Don't forget to spring forward (UGH!!) on Saturday night!

colourQ challenge #332

This week's colourQ challenge color palette is so beautiful! I wanted to do a more graphic card similar to the inspiration pic, but I am so in love with this stamp set (PTI Flower Favorites), that I had to use it . . . again! I stamped off one of the flower layers in order to have the variegated colors. The sentiment is from PTI Graceful Greetings. This card would be a great one to mass-produce to have on hand or to give as a thoughtful gift. Thanks so much for stopping by today and have a blessed day!

colourQ challenge #331

I love this week's colourQ challenge colors! How could I not with all those beautiful blues, but it has taken me all week to come up with an idea. I love the bokeh technique so that's what I was going for with my card. I sponged on  Bermuda Bay and Basic Gray along with Tim Holtz's Blueprint Sketch and Mermaid Lagoon. I then used a sponge dauber and a little circle stencil I made from a piece of acetate to get the circles from Hero Arts Unicorn pigment ink. My sentiment is from PTI's Keep it Simple: Praying for You. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

Make It Monday #241: Ombre Stenciled Backgrounds

I'm pretty excited about my card today! This week's PTI Make it Monday challenge is Ombre Stenciled Backgrounds so I dug out a homemade stencil to use on my card. Shades of blue and turquoise are my favorite so I chose SU! Pool Party and Coastal Cabana & Tim Holtz's Broken China and Peacock Feathers. I am so thrilled to have recently gotten PTI's Graceful Greetings stamp set - it is such a beautiful and versatile set. And Brushed Blooms is just so amazing that I use it all the time, except when I'm using PTI's anniversary set for 2016, Painted Petals. I'll try to branch out a bit soon, but for this week, it's all florals, all the time! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
