Happy Easter!!

Up from the grave He arose;
with a mighty triumph o'er His foes;
He arose a victor from the dark domain,
and He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
He arose! He arose! Hallelujah! Christ arose!

Happy Easter!

colourQ challenge #182

I gotta say that I am REALLY getting into these blog challenges!! This week's colourQ challenge was a little tricky, though. I have all the colors except Wisteria Wonder and none of my stamping buddies could suggest a suitable alternate, so I used Almost Amethyst and I hope the "powers that be" approve. The inspiration for this card is one I found by Nichole Heady and used PTI's 2013 anniversary set. I substituted a set by Inkadinkado called Flowers that I found at Marshall's today for $1.49! I LOVE how masking gives a crisp, clean spot for my sentiment, which is by PTI. I used two Post-it notes because the adhesive is strong enough to stay put while I stamp but light enough so as not to leave a residue on my card. Thanks for stopping by on this Good Friday! I am praying that you have a blessed Easter Sunday!

CAS-ual Fridays CFC95: No Stamps

This week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge is to make a project using NO STAMPS!! NO STAMPS?!?! Can you imagine?! Actually, it was easier than I thought since I have a fantastic new selection of Washi tape that I bought from Pick Your Plum for an incredibly, ridiculously low price!! (Thanks, Annie B. - you enabler!!) So, this is a recreation of a card I've done before with the addition of some AWESOME new Thickers, called Eclaire, in Cucumber, and VOILA! A lovely little card sans stamps! Who knew it could be done? Thanks for stopping by.

Make It Monday #108: Inked Backgrounds

This week's PTI Make it Monday challenge is Inked Backgrounds. My stamping buddy, Jane, told me that she is going to use this set (Hello, Sunshine) to stamp a sunset (which is a GREAT idea!!) so I gave it a try. I don't like my execution but I do like the idea, so I will likely give it another try before surrendering! Thanks for stopping by. Hope your spring break is warmer and dryer than ours is turning out to be!!

colourQ challenge #181

This week's colourQ challenge is BEAUTIFUL and one of my very favorite color combinations!! My guest bathroom is done in these colors and has been for many, many, MANY years!! It's such a fresh, clean palette - perfect for spring (although, spring is a little slow to come to E. TN!). I used (for the first time) my Hello Sunshine stamp set and my cloud dies from PTI. I will definitely make this card again, but next time, I will offset the yellow center a bit more. Those little clouds are great for camouflaging imperfections (I've heard! ;D). Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful weekend!!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

My sweet, precious, wonderful dad's birthday is on St. Patrick's Day and since I am very, very lucky to have such an amazing father, I made this card for him!

I found the inspiration for this card on Pinterest and I LOVE using punched hearts to make a 3-D shamrock! I used Wild Wasabi and some new SU! shade of green, and added a bit of sparkle to the center with Stickles. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!

Scootin' by to say . . . hello!!

I got this awesome stamp set for only $10 from Sweet Stamp Shop and, as usual, I am OBSESSED with it!! I have paper pieced several little scooters and it is surprisingly easy and such fun! Believe it or not, my favorite stamp is the little exhaust coming out of the back! Too cute! A friend ordered these note cards and I had just gotten SU!'s pinwheel die so I added a pinwheel to the back of two of the scooters. The die is teeny tiny and a bit challenging to use, but I think I'm going to keep it and work on my technique. It just hit me that this stamp set would be PERFECT for a blog challenge I need to work on so come back tomorrow for a "holiday" scooter!!

Design Team Cards for March

Well, here it is March 13, and I have already completed my 3 projects for the design team for Scrappin' in the City!! I love it when I'm ahead of the game, which is so rare that I am really relishing this moment! I used almost an entire new collection of paper by Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper and my new Tim Holtz distress inks in Picked Raspberry, Faded Jeans, and Mustard Seed. I also threw in a "vintage" SU! stamp set, Pick a Petal (LOVE!!), and a new PTI stamp set, Stylish Sentiments: Birthday. All of the banners and petals are hand cut and I used paper punches for the balloons, separating them with dimensionals. Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the week!!

Tomato Pincushion

I saw the inspiration for this card on Pinterest several months ago and thought it was such a clever idea! I'm fairly certain my grandmother had a tomato pincushion when I was growing up, so I became a little nostalgic about the one I saw online. As usual, when I started prepping the pieces for this card for my stamping group, I totally lost interest and thought the whole idea was a colossal waste of time! Luckily, my stamping friends disagreed and improved upon it by using a sewing stamp set that our hostess had. The grid background is something seamstresses use (pelon or something), although I would've loved to have used an actual pattern. Oh, well, the best laid plans . . . Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Spread the Love: A Clear & Simple Stamps Campaign

I realize my love of PTI's new Watercolor Wonder stamp set is bordering on obsession, but I had to use it for this one last little blog challenge!! I just discovered a beautiful blog called Damask Love and the challenge this week was to pick one of the color schemes posted on their blog and share with the blogging world who my "blog crush" is!! Well, I'm going on record that it's Nichole Heady of Papertrey Ink!! Her stamps and paper creations are some of the most amazing I have ever seen and I am inspired every single month by her creativity & her unique approach to papercrafting. So there you go - sharin' a little love this month!! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

CFC92

It's Friday and that means it's time for a new CAS-ual Fridays challenge!  This is my first CAS-ual Fridays challenge, but it certainly won't be my last!!
cfc92This week's theme is background stamping and I used my new favorite Watercolor Wonder stamp set by PTI for another fun and easy card. This week's winner gets a $25 gift certificate to spend at Ellen Hutson - isn't that COOL?! Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!
