Color Challenge

Here is another color challenge from KWernerDesignBlog. I think those little felt baby shoes are so precious so I made a cute little baby card using this week's colors. I'm going to miss Soft Sky once it retires, but I already love Baja Breeze, so I won't be sad for long. I just love using strips of Designer Paper on the lower half of cards. It's a fabulous idea I got from Mish Mash and a great way to use up those pieces of paper I always have lying around. I hope you're inspired to create something beautiful today!

More New Colors . . .

OK, if you can't tell by now, I AM IN LOVE WITH SU!'S NEW IN COLORS!! They are amazing and if anyone had major doubts about them before, it was ME!! So, I am so glad I was wrong and that they turned out to be beautiful! This is a super simple card that was on the SU! demo website using four of the new In Colors: Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, and Riding Hood Red. I used one of my Creative Memories circles as a guide for the paper piercing - cute and easy. The stamp set I used is Wow Flowers from the upcoming Fall/Winter Idea Book & Catalog. This is another great card to use for a New Catalog Open House or Stamp-A-Stack. Have a great day!

We Wish You a Merry "Chic"mas!

As many of you know, I am completely obsessed with Angie Juda's amazing blog, Chic 'n' Scratch. I have found so many wonderfully inspiring projects there and it is such a treat to see what's new on her blog every day. Well, a few days ago, she posted a precious little notebook using the new Bella Rose Paper (which is so beautiful and versatile!) and the new "Deer Friends" stamp set (absolutely precious!). I liked it so much, I wanted to make a Christmas card from her design - a super SIMPLE card that you could use for your new catalog open house, Christmas Stamp-A-Stack, or your own personal Christmas wishes. Color Challenge

How completely cool is this!?!?! You must check out K Werner's Design Blog. It is a masterpiece - so much more professional than my little blog :) I'm going to start posting her color challenges because I just LOVE her inspiration pictures. They make me want to create something - and I think you'll feel the same!! On the right is the card I created. I fudged a little and used some Riding Hood Red for the apples. The stamp set is called "Window Dressing" and it's a new Level 3 set that will be in the upcoming SU! catalog! It's fabulous and you're going to want it! So be inspired and have a great week!!

My New Love - Kiwi Kiss

I'll be the first to admit that when I first saw Kiwi Kiss, I called it "Baby Poop Green." I was very unimpressed, to say the least. But now that I have it in my hot little hands, I really like it!!! I have used it with Riding Hood Red and with Pacific Point and it is amazing! It coordinates with the new Bella Rose Designer Paper, too, which is one of the prettiest papers I've ever seen! I CASEd this card that I saw on SCS by One Happy Stamper. I just LOVE it!! I substituted Kiwi Kiss for Certainly Celery on my card. A COOL TRICK: I used White Craft Ink and the vine from the new Fresh Cuts set to stamp the ribbon! How neat is that?? I heat set it carefully with my embossing gun before adding it to my card. You can also iron the ribbon with a white cloth over it to heat set it. BE CAREFUL!! It will scorch easily when you use an embossing gun.

More Monogrammed Note Cards

I have a friend, Alice, who also has been a tremendous help to me while I'm recuperating! Bailey had such a blast with her three precious boys on Friday. So, I made her a set of monogrammed note cards based on a set I saw on Lauren Meader's blog. The cardstock and ink are SU!'s new Tangerine Tango, which I just love! I really like using the tiny letters from JustRite Stampers to spell out the first name with the last initial. Classic, but just different enough to be fun!! That's me - FUN!!

Inspired by Anna Griffin

I am having so much fun creating and blogging today!! I just love Baja Breeze, one of the new In Colors from Stampin' Up! I made a set of note cards using Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla for my dear friend, Karen, who taught Sunday School for me last Sunday and took care of Bailey while I was tormented by kidney stones! So glad THAT'S over!! Anyway, the color combination with the Floral Background reminds me of Anna Griffin's stationery, which is so beautiful and classic - just like my friend!!

MY NEW STUFF IS HERE!!! WOO-HOO!!!

I didn't think Mr. Brown would EVER get here today, but he finally did and I am so excited!!! I found this card on SCS (I know, you're shocked!) and couldn't wait to make it!! I just love these two new colors together - Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red. I also used the new stamp set, Dreams du Jour, which I think I'm going to be using a lot, and the new Scallop Edge Punch. BONUS: All the new stamp sets are die-cut!! I cheated a little and used the Cuttlebug Paisley embossing folder. I also used the new SU! Bella Rose Designer Series Paper. So get ready for all the new products because August 11 is just around the corner!!

My Inspiration: Vera Bradley

I've been trying to create a card based on all those beautiful Vera Bradley purses for some time now, so when I saw this amazing card by misermom on SCS, I had to take the plunge! My inspiration was my lovely new Morgan purse in the beautiful Caffe Latte pattern that I love so much! Thanks for looking! Have a great weekend!

Pink Ribbon Beauty

I found this card idea during one of my many blog-hopping adventures and I just love it! I thought it was a perfect card for a friend who is recovering from breast cancer. I think the combination of pink & brown is so beautiful and I hope my friend thinks so as well.

Hallelujah! My camera has returned!

Yea! My precious digital camera has returned and is now fixed!! I have so many projects to share, but my favorite is JanTink's Carousel Notes Purse Book. While the SU! Carousel Notes from the Occasions Mini Catalog have retired (cross your fingers that they'll be back in more colors!!), you can still make this amazing project. I made this one for my mom for Mother's Day and she loved it! It was so fun finding the old pictures to put in the album. It's a bit time-consuming, but so worth it because it's so easy to customize. NEW IN COLORS!!

I found these comparisons of the new SU! In Colors with our existing colors on Dawn Olchefske website! How awesome is that?!? I am still waiting on my new stuff since I forgot to expedite the shipping - UGH!! But I can't wait to see the new colors!! Since my love of Purely Pomegranate and Wild Wasabi is far-reaching, I didn't think I'd EVER be able to warm up to the new In Colors, but I think I'm going to like them!! Here they are: Riding Hood Red, Pirouette Pink, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, & Baja Breeze. The new In Colors will be available when the new Idea Book & Catalog are released on August 11. GET READY!!

Daisy Days

I found this adorable card on SCS by LynniePoo and I just love it!! I made it for my mom & dad as a thank you for saving me during my recent kidney stone episode while Chris was out of town. They are the most amazing parents and I am so blessed that they live only four miles from us or I would have been in BIG trouble!!! Thankfully, I'm feeling better now and hope to be creating and blogging more next week.

Celebrate the 4th!!

I have never made a 4th of July card before, but since I am stalking the JustRite Stampers blog every day and really liked guest blogger's Michelle Wooderson's patriotic project, I thought I would give it a try. I still LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the JustRite Monogram Stamp and use it for a variety of projects every chance I get. Nothing looks better or is appreciated more than a personalized gift, and the JustRite Monogram Stamp is the easiest way I know of to monogram or personalize your paper craft projects.

More Rubbah-dultery! Scandalous!

Those of you who know me know that my love of all things coffee borders on obsession. I'm rarely without my favorite Venti Coffee Light Frappuccino from Starbucks, and at least two stores know me by name or by drink. Yes, I know, very bad indeed! That's why I could not pass up this awesome stamp from Rubbernecker Stamp Company. I saw it used on this fabulous card on SCS, and had to have it! I'm sending this card to my like-minded coffee fiend and Vera Bradley aficionado, Wanda, who needs a pick-me-up right now. The inside reads, "With enough caffeine, I could rule the world!" Amen, sistah!

Totally Addicted . . . SURPRISE! SURPRISE!

OK, so I have mentioned before how much I LOVE JustRite Stampers' Monogram Stamper, but now my love is bordering on addiction! I check their blog every day and try to make all of the projects shown. I think this luggage tag is so cute!!! This would make a great diaper bag tag, too, and how cute would it be to make one to match your Vera Bradley purses! So many projects, so little time . . .

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!!!

Isn't this the cutest card!! I have seen this design on SCS, but it wasn't until I held one that Amy McNulty made for our last demo meeting that I realized how CUTE it is!!! I made this one for a friend of Bailey's who's having a birthday party tomorrow. Even better, we're giving her a gift certificate to Marble Slab Creamery, so this ice cream card is more than perfect!! Simply start with a 3"x4" piece of cardstock (any size will work); fold in half; round 3 corners; and punch out a bite using your scallop circle punch. It's that easy!

Sweetie Pie

I have been crafting like a mad woman today!! I am completely obsessed after having done very little recently. The inspiration for this card came from an amazing set of cards I found on SCS by Ladybugb919. I love everything about these cards!! Especially the use of the cool Cuttelebug embossing folders, which I am now in love with. My dear friend, Cele, told me yesterday that she has pre-ordered embossing folders for Halloween and Christmas and they are GORGEOUS!! I must have them! The stamp set is My Punny Valentine from PaperTrey Ink and I mixed a little cinnamon with clear embossing powder to make the top deliciously scented! Bailey has been on me for months to do this and where was she today when I made the card? Outside on her new bike!! Oh, how fickle my 7-year-old is!!

Feeling a little sheepish?

I saw this card on Nichole Heady's blog (Papertrey Ink) and just LOVED it!! It turned out to be a bit expensive to make, though, since I had to buy the stamp set and the oval scallop punch, but the batting was free! It's nice and woolly, but you can't really tell that from the picture. I made five for the very nice lady who gave me the batting (Thanks, Dot!), and they took forever!!! But I have a ton of batting and all the supplies now, so I guess I'll have to make more. This would make a REALLY cute baby card, too. The stamp set is called My Punny Valentine by Papertrey Ink (I know, I've committed rubbah-dultry!!) and it has a bunch of cute stamps. Bailey & I are going to make a card tomorrow using the pie stamp and adding cinnamon to the top so it smells yummy! She's so excited!!
